Company History

Back in 1928, Nick Simoni, a master tailor with an unmatched reputation, lived in city of Cleveland, Ohio.  At the request of a close friend, Nick was asked to make tuxedos his friends' wedding.  A legend was created, based on that one wedding party, Nick continued to make quality tuxedos for other weddings and the business grew.  Soon word spread and American Dress Suit Rental was born.  In the 1960's Commodore Tuxedo of Cleveland came and talked to the Simoni family about merging their operations, hence the new corporation, American Commodore Tuxedo was formed.

American Commodore Tuxedo soon became the name that represented Cleveland, Ohio for the finest men's formalwear needs in the area.  Still today, almost 80years later, American Commodore still owns, stocks and services all of their locations from a local plant.  Common sense tells you, the closer your business is to your customer, the quicker you can service your customer.  We make daily deliveries to all of our stores to make sure our customers have what they need.  Everyday, with the family's name and reputation on the line, the company's goal has always been to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.  Service and selection are just two of the components that help make every formal experience at American Commodore Tuxedo a memorable one.  Making you look good is not only our commitment, but it is also our business, and we look forward to being part of your special day!
